Who will be in the photo?

If you have booked a “Deluxe Newborn” session then mom, dad, and any siblings are included. If you book a "classic newborn session I will take portraits of your sweet new baby. Either way, you will receive pictures to cherish for a lifetime.


What should my baby wear?

I have everything you need— wraps, swaddles, and outfits! If there is a special outfit, prop, or blanket you are wanting to include, please feel free to bring it so we can incorporate it into your session. We included my husband’s handmade baby blanket in our sessions and it was the sweetest thing!


What should parents & siblings wear?

For the family portraits I prefer to use a neutral backdrop so that all of the focus is on you and baby. Solid colors or neutrals tend to be less distracting. However, please wear something you like and are comfortable in! I will wrap your baby in colors that match the family’s outfits. Typically these photos are taken from the waist up, so don’t have to worry too much about pants or shoes.


How long will the session last?

-It takes a tremendous amount of time to plan and prepare each newborn pose. Plan for up to 3 hours. If we are only taking pictures of baby, then 1-2 hours. It will all depend on how your baby is doing during the session. Once baby falls asleep the session usually starts moving along a bit quicker. Feeding and pacifiers are also helpful!


When should I feed my baby?

Please plan to feed and burp your baby when you first get here (or just before) so that they have a full belly and are relaxed. Your little one may still get hungry later during the session, so if you are using formula be sure to bring an extra bottle. If you are using pacifiers, please bring one to help soothe your baby during posing.


What can I expect your studio to be like?

I run my studio out of our home. There is seating and a television for the family. This usually helps entertain siblings as they are waiting. I also have small snacks and water available. I often use a small space heater to keep your baby warm during the session.


When will we receive my photos?

Within a few days after your session I will share a few images as a sneak peak. Final editing and retouching of your collection of portraits may take 1-3 weeks as I carefully hand touch the details of each photo.
